The Good Shepherd Scholarship
Scholarship Information
The Good Shepherd Scholarship is available to students in their senior year of high school and those currently attending a post-secondary educational institution in an undergraduate (or similar) program. The scholarship is open to all applicants, with an emphasis on those in the greater Cleveland area, as well as individuals who have been impacted in some way by kidney disease.
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,500, with the exact amount determined based on the Committee’s sole discretion.
Key Deadlines:
Scholarship application opens: TBD
Application deadline (via mail & online): TBD
Scholarship Committee Selection Meeting: TBD
Scholarship decisions sent: TBD
Applicants will be measured based on the strength of their responses, letters of recommendation, academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service, financial need, and disciplinary history. There is no minimum GPA requirement to apply, nor does the Scholarship Committee have any “disqualifying factors” used in their consideration of the applicant’s materials.
The Bosworth Foundation believes that every student deserves a chance to be considered for a scholarship, regardless of barriers placed in their way or circumstances that have occurred that may be viewed “negatively” by other scholarships. Applicants are encouraged to be transparent and honest in their responses so that the Committee can evaluate the applicant’s materials holistically.
The Scholarship Committee reviews applications blindly; the Executive Director is the administrator of the applications and redacts any and all personal identifying information from materials before distributing them to the Board, reducing any implicit or explicit biases. Individuals who are related to any Board/staff member by blood, adoption, or marriage are ineligible for the scholarship, in line with The Bosworth Foundation’s Conflict of Interest Policy.
Applications for the 2025-2026 cycle will open shortly and a link will be available on this page. Stay tuned!
